UEZ Coordinator

UEZ Coordinator The Town of Kearny is seeking a highly organized and energetic individual to assume the position of Kearny Urban Enterprise Zone (KUEZ) Coordinator. The KUEZ office manages the day-to-day operations of programs that promote economic and community development. Working closely with the KUEZ Board, the Kearny governing body and the State of New Jersey, the KUEZ Coordinator needs to maximize resources, expand program activities and promote Kearny as a destination for living, working and investment. The KUEZ Coordinator will assist in planning, organizing, developing, coordinating and implementing program activities that support industrial, office, or commercial development, related to business attraction and retention for Kearny; solicit new businesses to the UEZ Program; retain existing businesses in the UEZ Program; establish and maintain effective working relationships with businesses; create initiatives for small businesses; and assist in the implementation of marketing campaigns. The KUEZ Coordinator is responsible for building strong, strategic partnerships with internal and external entities to support equitable economic development. The role leads to development and implementation of an overall marketing strategy, including creating and distributing content across a multitude of social media platforms, managing a sophisticated website, sourcing, creating a newsletter, developing original content, growing a digital audience base, and more. The ideal candidate should be team oriented, responsible, reliable and have a strong motivation to undertake challenging work. Candidates should have a four-year college degree from an accredited college or university in a related subject area (i.e. communications, marketing, business administration, public administration, urban planning, etc.), and five (5) years of direct experience in either economic development, or working for another urban enterprise zone (UEZ). An advanced degree from an accredited college or university in a related subject area (i.e. Master of Business Administration, Master of Public Administration, Master of Urban and Regional Planning, etc.) may be substituted for three (3) years of direct experience.
