The Town of Brutus is accepting applications for the position of Town Clerk/Tax Collector. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing and maintaining Town records; attendance and taking minutes at Town Board meetings; preparing/answering correspondence; keeping fiscal records and accounts; issuing various documents and vital statistic records, and other assorted duties. Work involves public contact and is executed within the scope of NYS Laws. Applicant must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, must be proficient in Word and Excel, and must be able to adapt to different computer programs that are used in the office. Applicant must be team-oriented and able to work well with others. The Town Clerk need not be a resident nor an elector of the Town of Brutus, provided that such person shall reside in Cayuga County or an adjoining county within the State of New York.
