Surgical Scheduler Busy, growing orthopedic practice has an opening for a surgical scheduler. The surgical scheduler will support 5 physicians in providing excellent care and outstanding patient experiences by having the following skills and knowledge base. Above-average computer skills Above-average organizational abilities Excellent time management abilities Strong commitment to team work and excellence Obtaining insurance authorizations for all procedures Collecting deductible/copay/coinsurance prior to procedure Organize and gather records to assemble surgery packets Schedule post op appointments and first PT appointments Gather all DME needed prior to surgery Communicate with Reps when surgical equipment/implants are needed Answer all physician calls and incoming surgery questions regarding scheduled procedures Order required labs and tests needed for surgery Request, gather, and view clearances for surgery and implement surgery orders Coordinating with hospital for scheduling cases for each surgical day Verifies all information entered in computer is correct, including demographics and all other necessary information Ensures all necessary paperwork for any patient is received by the appropriate party Communicating any and all scheduling changes to all appropriate parties. Maintains an open line of communication with Manager and Physician at all times Familiar with basic medical terminology associated with specialty Ability to cross-train in other areas of office as required High school diploma or equivalent One to two years' experience in a health-related organization required.
