The Department of Government at New Mexico State University invites applications for the position of Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Political Science with a focus on American government. Employment will start August 19, 2024. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or have ABD status in Political Science or a related field. Preferred qualifications are teaching experience in Political Science and American government. The Tenure Track Assistant Professor will teach a mix of undergraduate and graduate classes in the areas of political science and American government, totaling three classes per semester, as well as serve on the MA committee within the Department of Government. The Department of Government offers a BA in Government, a Supplementary Major in Law and Society, an MA in Government, and a nationally accredited Masters of Public Administration (MPA). It is also one of the lead departments for the new Interdisciplinary Ph.D. Program in Transborder and Global Human Dynamics.
