Aero-Thermal Engineer

Aero-Thermal Engineer – Design turbo machinery thru product life cycle, from definition of reqs to implementation/qualification. Duties: devel/integrate tech in turbomachinery, magnetic bearings, permanent magnet motors, and integrated power electronics; convert market needs to design solutions; detailed aero design; use 1 Dimensional mean line code to design preliminary flow path, blade geometries, diffusers, volute; predict compressor performance; employ 3D CFD for aero performance sims and aerodynamics optimization; aerodynamic performance analysis and studies w new refrigerants; collab w teams in product devel, mfg eng, and procurement to ensure feasibility; deliver design docs following stage gates; new technology research and development. Reqd: MS in Mech or Aero Eng w 1 year exp in advanced fluid mechanics and designing compressors (industrious centrifugal, air, oil and fuel, or turbocharger); commercial 1D mean line code; and commercial Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) code.
